The Defiance City School Board of Education has chosen their top candidate for superintendent of the district, and it’s a very familiar name.Bob Morton the current high school principal at Defiance Schools, was the lead candidate following a board of education meeting Wednesday night.Board president Gary Rodenberger pointed to Morton’s deep roots in the district, and his experience in the Defiance community as major factors in their selection.The DefianceSchool board has voted to enter negotiations with Morton to take-over the top administrative slot in the district.He would replace Mike Struble who is retiring from the Defiance Schools this summer.Bob Morton has been high school principal at Defiance since the 2007-2008 school year.
