There’s a lot of Americans on the move these days, looking for a new place to live. And the part of the country they are leaving is the Northeast. New Jersey was #1 on the list of losing residents. Illinois was #2 in the nation for move-outs, followed by Connecticutt and New York. Ohio ranked #6 for most residents moving out of the state, and Michigan was #10.
Where are most Americans moving to- the West. Oregon gained the most in population by residential moves, followed by Idaho, Nevada, and Arizona. The Carolinas are another popular place for new homes, ranking #5 and 6. The only state in the Northeastern part of America to gain in population was Vermont.
