One of the top employers in Defiance County has been acquired by a Wisconsin company. Defiance Metal Products has close to 450 employees, and will now be part of Mayville Engineering Company, the largest fabricator in the U.S.
Steve Mance, Defiance Metal Products president reports this is an excellent move for both companies, and all facilities will remain open, with current positions to stay intact. Mayville Engineering has 16 plants in Wisconsin, Michigan, Mississippi, South Carolina, and Virginia. Mance will be tasked with integrating the two companies and leading the local plant in Defiance. Defiance Metal Products makes metal items for commercial vehicles, agriculture, construction, and the military industry. Another plant of Defiance Metal Products is located in Heber Springs, Arkansas.
