A wage increase of 3% was approved for employees in the village of Deshler. That was action by Deshler Council Monday night, and will impact about 15 staff members. An increase for police officers was also approved, moving to $15/hour for part-timers, and to $16 per hour for full time officers. A switch to Medical Mutual for health care coverage will save Deshler over $18,500 in employee costs for 2019.
Deshler Council approved paying $1,400 to upgrade the village computer network. And temporary appropriations for the first three months of 2019 were approved at about 4.56 million dollars. That’s an increase of about $11,000 over last year’s temporary budget.
And a public hearing to consider changes in the Deshler zoning ordinance is scheduled for December 26th at 6:45pm. The regular council session will follow.
