FOUR COUNTY CAREER CENTER CELEBRATES 50 YEARS

The Four County Career Center is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a community open-house and program on Monday, October 15th.  Ten superintendents met in 1965 to discuss the possibility of organizing a vocational school district in the four county area.  A survey was conducted, and in 1966, 29 school districts formed the Four County Joint Vocational School District.    Levy and bond issues were passed, and land was purchased in 1967.     That led to construction of the school, and the first class of 205 seniors entered classrooms in 1968.   The building was dedicated a year later.

The open-house at Four County Career Center will be October 15th from 6 till 7pm.  There will be displays of memorabilia, along with displays from the 30 career and technical programs, along with adult education.
