WEST NILE FOUND IN HENRY COUNTY MOSQUITOES

It may only be a matter of time for human contact; but the first reports of West Nile Virus have been reported in Henry County.   Although no humans or animals have tested positive for the virus, three different sample pools tested positive with mosquitoes for West Nile.   They are located in Napoleon, Deshler and Holgate.

West Nile Virus is mostly spread through the bite of a mosquito; so minimize your exposure.  You can do that by emptying water containers, wearing insect repellent, and avoid going outside during peak times like dusk and dawn.   Wearing long sleeves and pants will also help.

The Henry County Health Department also has mosquito dunks that you can use in larger water sources to cut down on mosquito larvae.
