There were some sizzling numbers in the June sales tax revenue report for Henry County this month. Total sales tax receipts this month topped $532,000, which is an increase of 56% over June of 2020.That amounts to an increase in revenue for the month of June by over $208,000 in Henry County. It’s also a record amount of sales tax revenue for any month in history, surpassing the nearly $503,000 total recorded in March of this year. Sales tax receipts generally reflect local sales from about 3 months before. So with half of 2021 sales tax revenues in the book, that figure is over 2.6 million dollars, which is nearly $900,000 ahead of the first half receipts for Henry County last year.
Defiance County also had a huge month in sales tax revenues for June, hitting $708,000 in receipts. That’s more than a 24% increase over June 2020 sales tax revenues in Defiance County.
