The deadline for candidates to be the next superintendent at Archbold Area Schools is approaching on October 12th. The intent of the board is to hire a new superintendent in November, and bring them on-board in January. Marc Robinson is currently serving as interim superintendent.
The Archbold School Board met Monday, and approved a 3-year contract for elementary principal Dorothy Lambert. The board reviewed student enrollment in the elementary, where the average class size is 94. But the current kindergarten class has only 79.
The district report card from the state indicated Archbold received an overall score of ‘B’; but the elementary received an ‘A’. And the bus fleet added two more propane powered units, with the help of grant dollars. That’s 4 of the 14 in the bus fleet now utilizing propane. They run quieter, with lower fuel cost, and less maintenance; but lower miles per gallon.
